Recipes disclaimer

Whilst I make every effort to ensure my recipes are clear and accurate, I cannot be held responsible for what happens in your kitchen and home environment, including and not limited to accidents requiring medical attention. 

Where I state that a recipe is free from a particular allergen it means that, to the best of my knowledge, it is possible to buy all the ingredients needed to make the recipe to be free from that allergen. It is your responsibility to double check that all the ingredients you are using are suitable for you or your child. For example, I may specify that a recipe needs oat milk. There are many different brands to choose from and rarely they will contain a mix with another plant based milk such as soya. It’s important to double check this. 

As a website focusing on supporting families of children with allergies, the accuracy of allergy information is of utmost importance to me. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to check suitability, and I cannot be held accountable for this.

It is also important to note that ingredients can and do change without warning – so check every label, every time. 

Product lists and ‘May Contain’ statements

I often share product lists which may be helpful to my readers, for example a list of dairy and soya free breads. When I state that a product is free from an allergen, I mean that the allergen is not included in the ingredients list. However, some may have a ‘may contain’ warning for those allergens.

In England, ‘may contain’ warnings are currently optional, and the wording is not standardised. This means that a product with a ‘may contain’ warning could have exactly the same level of risk as a product with no such warning. 

I do include products with ‘may contain’ warnings, but it is your responsibility to decide if you are happy with the level of risk they pose. I share products I am happy to use as a mother of children with non – IgE allergies, but all situations are different. I would suggest talking to your allergy specialist or dietitian if you’re unsure. 

Ingredients can and do change without warning – so check every label, every time.
