I describe a recipe as free from a particular allergen if that allergen is not one of the ingredients used, or I have provided an alternative to replace it. To the best of my knowledge, it is possible to buy all the ingredients needed to make the recipe to be free from that allergen. However, If you or your child has an allergy, always double check that the recipe and all of the components are suitable. This includes checking may contain statements on each ingredient and making your own assessment of risk based on personal circumstances.
